New quality standard aims to clear haze in trainee market
ORMIT receives first Cedeo Trainees accreditation
Robust selection criterion
Ruud Wink, manager at Cedeo: "None of the existing quality standards quite fit the bill. Suppliers of interim assignments, for example, come close but don't do justice to the development programme that ORMIT has created for its trainees. We want to provide HR managers with a robust selection criterion for hiring trainees." Ingrid van Tienen, assistant director at ORMIT adds: "We see many random entry-level positions in the market being given the ‘traineeship’ label. In reality, these are often just ‘normal’ jobs. It’s about time the haze cleared for sharper visions."

The specific trigger for ORMIT was a government tender that required an independent customer assessment. Ingrid: "We are continuously -self-evaluating our activities and can avail ourselves of various valuable references, but we did not have such an assessment to hand. What’s more, we are keen to use quality as our distinguishing factor. The better it can be objectified, the stronger your position. Each entry-level position with some mentoring and a handful of courses is called a traineeship nowadays. There’s a danger the term traineeship becomes blunted where you can’t see the wood for the trees anymore."
We want clients to score us 9+, and it is fantastic that the Cedeo survey confirms this. It is important to maintain these excellent scores, as the drive for continuous improvement is in ORMIT’s DNA.

It is important to maintain these excellent scores, as the drive for continuous improvement is in ORMIT’s DNA." She encourages other providers of traineeships to report for testing duty. "It would be great if more agencies started calling on Cedeo, it is to our advantage for the wheat to be separated from the chaff in our market."
How will ORMIT spread awareness of the quality standard? "We really want to communicate and propagate the accreditation as a group. Whereas most of our trainees were Dutch and Belgian people ten years ago, we can now count fifteen nationalities within our company. The growth of trainees with an international background is unprecedented in both the Netherlands and Belgium."
The trainees are also proud of the accreditation. This truly confirms our choice for a traineeship with ORMIT, they say.
