The challenge
How does a bank successfully transform itself in the age of digital disruption? Customers are moving online and expect their banks to offer them the same seamless online experience to which they have become accustomed in other areas of their life.
As one of the largest banks of the country, BNP Paribas Fortis is well prepared to make this digital transition and to adapt its business model to deploy a new, future-proof eco-system.
In order to accelerate the pace of change and seize the opportunities of the digital revolution, BNP Paribas Fortis faced the challenge of finding new digital talent with the right skills and mind-set. High potentials who could become the future game-changing leaders of the organisation.

The design of the Digital Leaders Program
First, ORMIT organized a workshop with the main stakeholders of the bank to discuss and agree on the set-up, scope and content of the traineeship. At the end of the workshop, ORMIT had the basis to start its recruiting & selection process. The goal is that the trainees meet the outflow profile at the end of the traineeship and can grow into a leading position in the bank’s digital transformation. Based on the outflow profile, ORMIT and BNP Paribas Fortis defined the inflow profile and the development program.
In total, ORMIT will select and develop 30 young digital talents, with zero to three-year experience.
‘I am very convinced about the added value of ORMIT for the recruitment, selection and development of our digital leaders for the future. We consider them as a strategic partner!
On track towards digital leadership
The Digital Leaders Program is an 18-month program during which the trainees work on challenging digital assignments at BNP Paribas Fortis. As a result, they become familiar with a variety of aspects in banking. This will help them to make an informed career choice at the end of the program.
On top of this day-to-day work, ORMIT consultants give them intensive training aimed at self-reflection and development, thanks to high-quality feedback and guidance.
- Business coaching
- Career guidance
- Extensive training program
- Co-learning sessions
During their assignments, program managers of both BNP Paribas Fortis and ORMIT guide and follow the trainees and keep an eye on the results and ROI through a pre-defined set of KPIs. This combination of in-house and external coaching is a well-proven method that ORMIT also applies for other customers.
